Fun Friday Share: Stocking Stuffers
Share your creation Friday, September 4 to Thursday, September 10
If you are new to Substack, definitely read below. I will share how you can do this. :)
If you are new to our group, WELCOME! We hope you will say “hello” in the comments below!
FUN FRIDAY #2
Share one of your creations that would make a great stocking stuffer!
Think “giftable” items and stick to those that cost no more than $15 at regular price if you can. If you are on Zazzle, it’s important to note the marketplace has a tag for “Gifts under $20,” so definitely stay under that threshold.
NEW SUBSTACK USERS: HOW TO SHARE WITH AN IMAGE
The best way to share an image of your work, start to build your own audience here, and spread the word about our group is by “restacking.” At the bottom of this post, you will see a place to love it, comment, restack (the circular arrows symbol), and share off platform.
Click the circular arrows symbol to “restack” and choose “restack with a comment.” This will create a “Note,” which is a public post on Substack’s version of a “social media feed.” (“Notes” is where you will be “discovered” as a creator and is a great way to start sharing your art and interests.)
In the bottom of the Note space, select the image icon to choose a file from your computer. This will allow people scrolling to see your work regardless of whether or not they also click on your link, which you will now type in the actual Note space.
Before your link, include a message. It could be something quick like “I’m participating in the CtrlZ Creative Community Fun Friday Share. This week’s share features our creations that might make a wonderful stocking stuffer. I hope you will enjoy my submission. Feel free to click this link to learn more about my creation.” TIP: If this is your first Note ever, you might consider adding a little more info about who you are and your work in general. : )
Your link could be to the platform or site where you sell your work, or to a place like Pinterest or Benable (perhaps if you have an entire list with that art/design) so people can interact and prop you up in multiple places (our group members are quite likely to do this, FYI!)
EXPERIENCED SUBSTACK USERS
Please feel free to restack or to just tag
in your Note. You are welcome to add a link to your note. Your link could be to the platform or site where you sell your work, or to a place like Pinterest or Benable (perhaps if you have an entire list with that art/design) so people can interact and prop you up in multiple places (our group members are quite likely to do this, FYI!)
ALL SUBSTACK USERS
If you plan to share a creation, please comment below. This will allow members to easily find one another, especially as many of us are using Substack for the very first time! I know we will want to follow one another and provide support this week and into the future.
You are welcome to share one additional link each day until next Thursday. I would recommend that starting with the second link (ie. Day 2), you just reply below. I suggest this so that your followers do not feel like you are “constantly” trying to sell here, as Substack at its core is definitely about creatives sharing and building up one another. : )
As always, please feel free to ask questions below as well.
FREE PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY: We do have a collaborative Pinterest board for our Fun Friday shares as an extra opportunity to boost your work! I will need to invite you because this board is private (I then move your link to the public board, which gives you an extra save and another place to appear). Please include your Pinterest info below as well if you would like to be invited to participate.
We look forward to seeing your work!
Amanda (aka CtrlZ) and our entire Creative Community

Yes, I know where I live it's Thursday! I figured I'd give people in the States a little lead time before I share in the Zazzle forum, and hopefully this helps our international members as well. :)
Do we post our submissions here AND on Pinterest, or is it either or?
